WHAT IS G.A.P.?
G.A.P. Serves as a support group for grandparents raising their
grandchildren.
G.A.P. A place to come together when things seem to be coming down around
you. You can yell or cry and not be judged.
G.A.P. is a way for children to meet other children being raised by their
grandparents.
G.A.P.'s mission, in addition to providing all types of support needed by
grandparents who request help or attend meetings, is to be aware of laws or
proposed legislation which affect this population.
G.A.P. supports relevant legislation. Legislation, which G.A.P. worked on
and helped pass, includes grandparents' rights for visitation and the
abandonment clause to aid in adoption and guardianship.
G.A.P. does not have all the answers, but we can help each other whenever
we can.
