The ribbon was designed by taking in to consideration those I had received
from both Delaware and Canada. Ironically, both were PURPLE, so I stayed
with that color. One had a knot, the other the pearls. What I am aiming for
is unity, so a composite of both seemed the answer. We seemed to have
adopted the tag GRG short for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, besides
that is a bit to long to fit on the ribbon.
The KNOT stands for STRENGTH which we often need a lot of in this fight for
survival of our "ANGELS." The PEARLS represents the many tears that have
been shed in this battle.
I have been told those who have received theirs that conversations are
started in the strangest places with people asking what the ribbon stands
for. The quiet bunch that we are, it opens the door to explaining how laws
need to be changed. Many states Children's Rights leave lots to be desired.
I could go on, but I figure by now you get my drift.
